Scans
The AccessHawk scanner fetches only publicly available pages, stylesheets, and documents from the website address you enter — the same content anyone's browser could request. It never logs in, submits forms, or accesses non-public content. The website address you scan is processed to produce your report and counted in an anonymous, aggregate scan counter.
Reports
When you unlock a full report, a copy of that report (scan results only — the site name, score, findings, and page list) is stored so you get a shareable link. Shared reports are retained for 180 days, then deleted automatically. Anyone with the link can view the report, so treat the link accordingly. If you want a stored report removed sooner, email us with the link and we'll delete it.
Email addresses
We ask for your email to unlock the full report. We use it to (a) provide the report, and (b) if you opt in, send information about AccessHawk Monitoring and occasional Title II compliance updates. We do not sell, rent, or share email addresses with third parties. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can request deletion of your email at any time by writing to the address below.
Cookies and analytics
AccessHawk does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies. Your browser's local storage holds only your own recent-scan list and unlock state, on your device; it is never transmitted to us. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of serving those files.
Where data lives
AccessHawk runs on Cloudflare's network. Stored data (reports, email addresses) lives in Cloudflare's storage services. See our security page for more.
Public-records note for government users
If you're a public employee, be aware that reports you generate about your own entity's website and correspondence with us may be subject to your state's public records laws. That's between you and your records officer — but we keep our reports factual and professional so a records request never embarrasses anyone.
