Our commitment
AccessHawk (accesshawk.nythawk.com) targets conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Accessibility is considered in every change we ship, and this site is continuously scanned by our own engine โ the same free scan you can run on any site.
Measures we take
- Semantic HTML with proper landmarks (
main,nav), oneh1per page, and sequential heading structure. - A visible-on-focus skip-to-content link on every page.
- Keyboard operability throughout, with a high-visibility focus indicator.
- Color pairs chosen to meet or exceed 4.5:1 contrast; information is never conveyed by color alone.
- Live scan progress is announced to assistive technology via
aria-live; expandable report sections use properaria-expandedstate. - Motion respects
prefers-reduced-motion; nothing auto-plays; zooming is never disabled. - Forms have programmatic labels; errors are announced with
role="alert".
Known limitations
The animated score ring is decorative and its value is provided as text. Shared report tables can be wide on small screens; they scroll horizontally and are fully readable by screen readers. If you find anything else, we want to know.
Feedback and accessible formats
If any part of this site is difficult to use with assistive technology, or you need a report in an alternative format (large print, accessible PDF, plain text), email [email protected]. We aim to respond within 2 business days and to fix verified issues promptly.
Assessment approach
This site is assessed by our own automated engine (v2.0) on every deploy, plus manual keyboard and screen reader spot-checks (VoiceOver/Safari and NVDA/Firefox). Automated scanning finds only part of WCAG โ the same caveat we give every customer โ so manual review is part of our release process.
